Modern vehicles have dozens of computers watching the engine, transmission and more. When something's wrong they store a trouble code and may turn on a warning light. A code only tells us where to start looking. Diagnostics is the work of finding the actual cause, so you only pay for the repair you need.
Signs it's time
- Check engine light on or flashing
- Rough idle, misfires or loss of power
- Hard starting or no start
- Fuel economy suddenly gets worse
- A problem that comes and goes, and nobody's found it yet
What we do
- Scan every module for trouble codes and live data
- Test the suspected parts and wiring instead of guessing
- Road test to reproduce the problem
- Call you with what we found and an estimate
- No repairs until you approve them
A flashing check engine light means a misfire bad enough to damage the catalytic converter. Take it easy and bring it in soon. A steady light is less urgent, but still worth checking.
