Your suspension and steering hold the wheels in place, soak up bumps and point the vehicle where you steer. Shocks, struts, ball joints and tie rods all wear out, and gravel roads and potholes wear them faster. Worn parts make the ride rough, eat tires, and can make steering unsafe.
Signs it's time
- Clunking or knocking over bumps
- The vehicle bounces, dips when braking, or leans in corners
- Loose or wandering steering
- A hum or grind that gets louder with speed (often a wheel bearing)
- Uneven or cupped tire wear
What we do
- Inspect every suspension and steering part on the hoist
- Replace shocks, struts and springs
- Replace ball joints, tie rods, control arms and bushings
- Replace wheel bearings and hubs
- Alignment when the repair needs one
A badly worn ball joint can let a wheel fold under the vehicle. If you hear a clunk when turning or going over bumps, get it checked sooner rather than later.
